Lesson 3 will explain a second key strategy China is using around the world to sow chaos: it is called United Front Work. While China uses United Front Work all over the globe, this lesson will focus specifically on how United Front Work is used within the borders of the United States.
The ultimate goal of United Front Work in the United States is to weaken America in order to reduce America’s position on the global stage. The mission of China’s United Front work is to get all people, organizations and nations everywhere, by any means necessary (coercion, bribery, physical violence, and propaganda- legally or illegally - and as much as possible below the radar) to advance the goals of the CCP. It is sometimes called “sinicizing” and is the act of making something or someone Chinese in character or to bring under Chinese influence.
The United Front apparatus works inside of China and all around the world, of course, that includes the United States. China’s leader, Xi Jinping, proudly calls United Front work “the magic weapon” meaning it occurs with a slight of hand and is injurious to the recipient.
The United Front operates out of Communist China, coordinating with the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), which is the lead organization for coordinating and carrying out United Front Work both inside and outside of China.

At the end of the previous video was the following statement: “It is critical Americans understand the CCP United Front work is not a distant over there threat. It is a right here at home threat.”
For those of us who live in Ohio, the following information personally collected by the author of this lesson series, who lives in Pataskala, Ohio, will show just how true that statement is.
An example of China's United Front Work in Pataskala, Ohio
“Illuminate USA” is a solar manufacturing plant (read that assembly plant) created as a joint business venture between an American corporation (Invenergy, Chicago, IL), and the biggest producer of solar panels in the world, a Chinese corporation (LONGi, Xi’an, Shaanxi, China). Invenergy owns 51% and LONGi owns the remaining 49% of the joint business venture, opportunely named “Illuminate USA.”
Illuminate USA, which has retrofitted a 1.1 million sq-ft building in a little town called Pataskala (just east of Columbus), to Ohioans is not some far off factory… it’s a huge presence in their town of 17k residents. Once the citizens in Pataskala found out Illuminate USA was locating in Pataskala, a rancorous six month battle from October 2023 to March 2024 between the concerned citizens and the Pataskala City Council ensued. The concerned citizens tried to gain information about this assembly plant while the Pataskala City Council refused to share any significant information.
During these sometimes heated exchanges between the Pataskala City Council and the citizens of Pataskala concerned about having a CCP influenced factory in their town, the citizens shared many of the threats China poses to America. The city council meetings were videotaped for the citizens not at the meetings to hear and the meetings were often reported on by local and sometime national reporters.
When the city council refused to provide an open meeting including Invenergy, LONGi, and the Pataskala City Council to allow the citizens to receive answers to their many questions, the citizens themselves held their own meeting, the “Not In Our Town” Townhall.
Two things resulted from all of this controversy; the citizens of Pataskala became very aware of the existence of the 49% owned Chinese factory, and the image of Illuminate USA was tarnished. How might Illuminate USA fix their public image? By using United Front work! Illuminate USA needed to sinicize (Lesson 2) this problem; get the folks in Pataskala to see the factory as a positive presence in their city.
Illuminate USA has since joined the Pataskala Chamber of Commerce at the highest level of sponsorship. The joint venture company then used their new contacts within the Pataskala Chamber to organize a Hometown Festival for Fall 2024, with Illuminate USA as the main event sponsor, never mind that Pataskala is not the Hometown of China. This new festival will allow the folks of Pataskala an opportunity to appreciate all that a Chinese-based factory could do for them!
Never mind that for over 65 years, the City of Pataskala has touted their annual Street Fair, shutting down Main Street to bring in rides for the kids, local business and food vendors as the major event in Pataskala. Now Illuminate USA, the new benefactor of fun and frivolity, has arrived.
One has to wonder what other strategies Illuminate USA will use to get the locals to believe that China, the nation which uses forced labor, harvests human organs from unwilling live humans, denies the most basic of freedoms from its citizens, and which may receive up to $350 million per year of our tax dollars from the Inflation Reduction Act, is really just like any other American business?
The answer to that question will be provided in Lesson 4 of the Lesson Series: China’s Silent War on America, when the reader will see how Illuminate USA is cajoling itself into Pataskala’s two school systems, and gaining a relationship with Ohio’s Governor DeWine through an internship program.
TAKE ACTION Please!
A critical element now is to TAKE ACTION since the enemy is here in Ohio, within our country. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wants us to look upon them with favor. That is a key part of their plan. Don’t be fooled by their United Front Work tactics.
The CCP, through their business interests right here in Ohio, specifically via Illuminate USA (which is 49%-owned by the CCP Company, LONGI) in Pataskala, Ohio, is the enemy within. As we speak, they are ingratiating themselves with the local Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce (CoC).
Your citizen voice needs to be heard by this local CoC to let them know the danger present. It is easy for you to take this action.

Subject: Aiding and Abetting the Enemy
To Bre Huber,
As a proud American, I am greatly upset by your poorly thought out acceptance of the factory, Illuminate USA, into your Chamber. 49% of Illuminate USA is owned by LONGI, a Chinese corporation. Chinese Corporations like LONGI have card-carrying Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members on their boards. It is a certainty that Illuminate USA, having LONGI for a parent company, is influenced by the CCP.
China/CCP has a terrible human rights record including but not limited to forced (read that slave) labor, the involuntary harvesting of human organs while the victim is still alive, forced sterilization of Chinese women for population control, etc.
China/CCP approves the transfer of the chemicals from China to Mexico which are needed by the Mexican cartels to make fentanyl. Drug overdose deaths stand at 112,000 a year and continue to climb—the vast majority attributable to fentanyl.
China using the cheap labor mentioned in the paragraph above, along with the massive subsidizing of Chinese products, is undercutting American business in the marketplace. It is hard to believe this is something the Chamber would approve let alone support.
Lastly, are you aware that Illuminate USA according to the Wall Street Journal may be eligible to take home to China up to 350 million American tax dollars from the Inflation Reduction Act? This is money that was meant for wholly-owned American companies. Why would an American Chamber of Commerce support a company from a Communist country which is taking money out of the pockets of American taxpayers and American manufacturers so it can then be sent home to China?
It is critical the Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce not allow itself to be used by Illuminate USA to advance Illuminate USA’s image. It is critical then that the Chamber of Commerce cancels the plans for an Illuminate USA fall festival. It is critical the Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce distances itself from Illuminate USA in every way possible. If the Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce continues to do these things it is complicit in aiding and abetting America’s number one geopolitical adversary, as the quote below will support.
